Over the past few weeks we’ve had the joyous opportunity to test out the newest product from General Mills, Peanut Butter Cheerios. We’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews from people being told about this latest product and we of course had to give them a try!

Peanut Butter Cheerios?

Now, around here peanut butter seems to be that food no one eats since BabyGirl started school. She feels she’s allergic to peanut butter because she’s unable to eat at school but in reality, she is not allergic at all. Peanut butter to her is devil’s food. It is not allowed. It is murderous and can make her friend very very sick. At home, when she is given peanut butter she’d rather starve then eat.

In comes Peanut Butter Cheerios!

The moment I opened that delicious box of cheerios I was empowered by the smell of peanut butter. It was like opening the oven after baking a fresh batch of peanut butter cookies. It was beautiful!

Personally, I am a peanut butter addict. I love the stuff. I will eat peanut butter & cheese sandwiches any day at any hour. Don’t hate it if you haven’t tried it! Put a bowl of peanut butter cheerios in front of me and I’m like butter. It’s that instant match made in heaven. I love cheerios, I love peanut butter. It’s perfect.

Now, when it comes to flavoured cereals it seems that the flavour sometimes gets lost. This isn’t the case with Peanut Butter Cheerios. That delicious peanut butter flavour is jam packed into every bite. I am not personally a big cereal eater, but WeeMan on the other hand is. On most days he consumes two bowls in the morning and a bowl at night. Yes, this gets expensive on the pocket book but I’d rather him eat cereal than anything else.

When he was introduced to Peanut Butter Cheerios, the cereal consumption tripled. It was all he wanted. Even BabyGirl bellied up to the table to eat more than one bowl at a time. This was very shocking to me, but she loved them. No, I didn’t tell her they are peanut butter, didn’t feel like destroying this new love of hers.

Regular Cheerios Not Affected

Over on the Life Made Delicious facebook page there was a lot of worried parents that have children with peanut allergies. Many of you will be pleased to know that those delicious Cheerios will never come into contact with the Peanut Butter Cheerios. You can breathe some sighs of relief and keep on enjoying your Cheerios ladies and gents!

General Mills is very careful with their products and how things are made & handled. It is one food brand I never deny in our homes and one I will happily serve on a daily basis. Add in some Peanut Butter Cheerios to the mix, and I’m golden.

Will your family try out the delicious Peanut Butter Cheerios? Have you had them yet? Head on over to the General Mills Life Made Delicious facebook page and tell them your thoughts! We’d love to hear them just as much as them. They’re constantly offering great recipes, tips and promotions so I’d give them a little likey too!

I can’t wait to try them! I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited about a cereal lol. Still another 2 weeks or so until they are in stores, and it usually takes a bit longer for my local stores to get newer products. Exciting!
