I love making taco salad in the summer! As it is now August, I thought I better get some made to enjoy with my family before summer is over. Hehehehe!
Here is a recipe that my family uses to prepare this oh-so-yummy dish:
Brown 1 lb. ground beef
Drain grease and add taco seasoning – follow directions on packet
Set aside to cool
Then in a big bowl:
Tear lettuce into bite sized pieces
1 tomato chopped
1 can kidney beans drained
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese
2-3 cups crushed Doritos
Catalina dressing – add the amount you wish
Toss together and serve!
This dish is best eaten on the day prepared, as the lettuce gets wilty by the next day.
As you can see from the photo above, the bowl was almost empty by the time everyone grabbed some! It turned out GREAT!
