We had a chance to spend a little time at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on Friday (June 26, 2015). We hopped in our van and had to rush over and get in and out before the rain! Lots of afternoon, summer storms in Florida.
While there, we were happy to go and check out two new locations at the theme park. Creature Comforts – which once served as a gift shop – has now been transformed into a location were Starbucks’ beverages are sold, and the new Zuri’s Sweets Shop.
Walking toward Africa on Discovery Island, we peeked in at the newly remodeled Creature Comforts and found it to be a really nice spot to grab coffee and a snack! We are really loving all of the Starbucks’ in the parks at Walt Disney World Resort, but have a small wish – it would have been nice to have seating inside the building to enjoy your treats. 🙂
Most of the usual snacks were available along with some really neat house-made Disney cupcakes, etc. We didn’t have a chance to purchase anything – as I mentioned it was a quick trip – but we sure cannot wait to get back there soon!
As we trekked back into Africa – weaving in and out of traffic – we knew just where to go to find Zuri’s Sweets Shop. It was right next to the newly opened Harambe Market that we had so much fun eating at earlier in the month. Read about Harambe Market here. There are two entrances for this.
Once there, I was so pleased to see all of the goodies that the store had to offer and had a blast snapping pictures. You will find this African-inspired shop has over 80 exclusive items including candies, spices, trail mixes, cookies and more. There were many little kids picking out cupcakes and other sweet findings from the refrigerated glassed in areas, and they were happy to receive them. As I mentioned about getting something from the Starbucks location, we will look forward to trying something new on our next visit.
I had forgotten that I had taken video of the old Creature Comforts, and was thrilled to find this footage!
